You won’t taste the kale or spinach in this superfood smoothie bowl, but those deep greens give this recipe a major nutritional upgrade while raw almonds and chia seeds pack in some excellent plant-based protein.
Makes one smoothie bowl.
1 raw medium banana
½ cup fresh kale
½ cup fresh spinach
½ cup water
1 tbsp. raw almonds
½ medium banana, sliced
1 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. smooth raw almond butter
Add the smoothie ingredients to a blender, and blend thoroughly until very smooth. Add more water if you desire a more liquid texture.
Pour green smoothie into a serving bowl.
Add toppings in a row on the surface of the smoothie, including banana slices, chia and almond butter in that order.
